Oftentimes we receive e-mails with questions
concerning Bonnie's music and ministry, the music of First
Call and other projects Bonnie has been a part of. We thought
it would be good to try and answer some of these questions here.
Is print music available for any songs
performed by Bonnie Keen on her solo recordings, with First Call or
on any projects that feature Bonnie as a guest vocalist (e.g.
Gaither recordings)? The answer is NO. If there was
print music available at one time, it is now out of print and no
longer available.

Does Bonnie have access to any CDs or videos
that she is a featured guest on and is she able to make these
available for purchase? The answer is NO. Bonnie has
only been a guest vocalist on these projects and does not have the
ability to sell these. Many of these projects are out of print
and no longer available for purchase at any store. Our only
suggestion is that you check with some of the online auction sites.
The only exception may be the Gaither CDs and videos that Bonnie has
been a guest on. If you want to find out about their
availability, we suggest you try going to
Gaithernet.com.

Are sound tracks available for any songs by
Bonnie on her solo recordings, with First Call or on any project
that features her as a guest vocalist? Currently there are
NO sound tracks available for any of Bonnie's music. However,
we are working on sound track CDs with songs from her SOLO
recordings (Marked For Life, God of Many Chances). But again,
we'd like to stress that there are NO sound tracks available for any
First Call songs or songs Bonnie has performed as a guest vocalist
on other CDs or videos.

Are any of First Call's CDs or cassettes
available for purchase? We have good news and bad news for
this question. First the bad news. ALL of First Call's
recordings are now OUT OF PRINT and are not available for purchase
at retail stores. You may be able to find copies of some First
Call recordings on several online auction sites. Now the good
news. First Call is currently in the studio working on a new
acappella hymns project due out later this year. We have also
confirmed that Discovery House Music is planning on re-releasing a
"best of" CD from First Call's extremely popular Evening In December
recordings. This is due out in time for Christmas 2005.
Keep checking Bonnie's Web site for more information on both of
these First Call projects.

Why are all of First Call's releases out of
print and why can't Bonnie and the other members of the group simply
re-release these projects on their own? It's unfortunate,
but Christian music goes out of print very quickly. What does
it mean to go "out of print"? It simply means that a record
label decides to stop pressing new CDs, cassettes or in the old
days, vinyl records. In First Call's case, all of their
recordings were done in partnership with various record companies
like Word Records and Warner Alliance. These record companies
chose to stop pressing First Calls releases and so they are no
longer available for purchase. All of these labels are NOW
owned by large, secular record or entertainment companies and only
care about the bottom dollar when it comes to the possibility of
re-releasing older projects. If they don't think it will be
profitable, they won't release it.
When an artist does a recording with a record label, usually the
label owns the "master" of that recording. That means they
have the copyright to that recording and can do with it as they
please. Bonnie and Marty McCall of First Call have tried
unsuccessfully over the years to get their previous record labels to
re-release their projects. Our hope is that with the new
capability to download songs electronically that record labels will
begin making songs from older projects available. However,
this has not yet happened with any of First Call's songs.
We'll keep you posted.
